Before use, open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit and install batteries. This device operates on a 9V stacked battery. Ensure the battery rated voltage is strictly 9V; batteries of other voltages cannot be used as replacements. The instrument has low power consumption, with a newly installed battery supporting approximately 50 hours of cumulative operation. During operation, security personnel grip the handle and briefly press then release the activation button with the thumb. The indicator light will start flashing accompanied by a faint continuous beep, signifying the device is ready for operation. When the detector head sweeps across a person or object:If a low-pitched sound is heard and the tone gradually fades when the probe stays above the alert area, the target is a small metal object such as a belt buckle or zipper.If a sharp high-pitched tone is generated and continues non-stop even when the probe remains stationary, the target is a larger metal item such as weapons or ammunition.
